Layering - How to layer your skincare

Layering - Comment superposer vos soins de la peau

There isn't just one "perfect" skincare routine, but there is definitely an optimal way to apply your products. Theorder in which you apply your skincare can make a big difference in how well it works, no matter what product or brand you use.

The general rule: Apply your products in order of viscosity. In other words, apply them from lightest texture to thickest, unless you are using an oil-based formula which should always be applied last to lock in moisture into your skin.

Morning Routine:

Step 1 - Cleanse the face

Let's start with the most basic and arguably most important part of your routine: cleaning. Although it may seem unnecessary, cleansing your skin in the morning is actually very important. This helps to wake up your skin and prepare it to absorb the active ingredients of your other products.

For morning cleansing, it is advisable to use a simple cleanser such as micellar water or washing gel because they allow deep cleansing while providing freshness and energy to the skin.

Step 2 - Tone the epidermis

Now that your skin is clean, it's time to move on to toners. Toners can rehydrate and balance your skin by providing refreshment and soothing.

It is recommended to use light and if possible natural toners such as rose water. L'Eau Rosée, used daily, allows to awaken the complexion, tone the skin, tighten pores and refresh the complexion.

Step 3 - Energize Features

The next step in your routine is applying the serum. In addition to having the thinnest consistency, serums are generally the most powerful and concentrated products in your ritual.

For day serums, we prefer serums rich in vitamin C because they are valuable antioxidants which protect the skin from daytime stressors like free radicals (caused by UV rays), pollutants and blue light.

Step 4 - Hydrate skin

Now it's time to move on to hydration. Applying a moisturizer helps retain the benefits of other products applied before it, which is why they are thicker.

For the day cream, we use a light formula that hydrates, nourishes the surface of the skin without weighing it down and blocks free radicals to a natural preventive effect and instant radiance.

Step 5 - Treat Lips

The lip balm finalizes the layering. It is used to hydrate, nourish and repair the lips. You can choose a naturally colored balm, which, in addition to moisturizing your lips, gives them a light color for an immediate healthy-glow effect.

Evening Routine:

Step 1 - Cleanse face:

Even more important than in the morning, the stage of cleansing the skin in the evening can be done in two stages.

Your first cleanse will be dedicated to the gentle yet effective removal of daily makeup and pollution that your skin may be exposed to For this, favor oils or cleansing milks as their oil-rich formulas can help break down products on your skin that are designed to stay there all day like makeup.

The second cleansing may seem excessive, but it helps free your pores of any additional debris so that the absorption of future products is optimal. To do this, you can use something lighter and cooler like a micellar water or a washing gel.

Step 2 - Hydrate and regenerate the epidermis:

As with the morning routine, moisturizing is an important step because it hydrates the skin and seals in moisture simultaneously.

Because night is the best time for cell regeneration, night cream is often thicker and richer than day cream to guarantee you soothe and regenerated skin when you wake up.

Step 3 - Nourish and soften skin texture with anti-aging prevention):

Applying oil to the face is a finishing step. By penetrating deep into the skin, the oil seals in hydration (forming a protective barrier that prevents moisture from evaporating), and promotes absorption of other products used during your ritual such as your night cream or your eye contour.

Among the oils that you can apply in the evening, prefer pure natural oils, the most virtuous of which is seed oil prickly pear, for its high concentration of omega 6, omega 9 and vitamin E, and its powerful moisturizing and antioxidant benefits.

Step 4 - Treat the eye area:

Theeye contour treatment is an essential step in your evening ritual. The area under your eyes is a delicate and tender area. It should be cared for with gentle natural products rich in regenerating active ingredients such as fig seed oil from prickly and rosehip oil.

Tip Plus : Strengthen your full evening routine with a natural jade stone roller, the latter strengthens the adhesion and the benefits of face and eye contour treatments while promoting the suppleness of the epidermis and restoring volume to the features.
